Game Research 2
Flow by Jenovah Chen
Flow is a game about piloting an aquatic organism through a surreal biosphere where players consume other organisms, evolve and advance their organism to the abyss. The graphics in Flow is unique it captures attention and also gives out a calming effect on the players. Its like you've entered a whole new universe you can't even begin to explain it. I really admire the colors used in Flow. There's also a ocean like vibe the graphic gives off, kind of like snorkeling and you see a whole different world underwater, you're filled with awe and amazement. Flow is just like this, everything is so pretty with the choices of beautiful colors that consist with a variety of blue, green, and purple.
Q- What effect does sound have in Flow?
The sound in Flow gives off a soothing vibe and really helps in keeping the players interest in the game. When i first played Flow, I had the volume up so loud that it kind of startled me, the sound had a kind of eerie flow that just gave me the chills- not the good kind- I found it freaky at first. But as i continued to play the game i found the background music very relaxing. The choice of sound in Flow, effectively gives off the ocean/beach vibe. It was both soothing and relaxing, i often lose myself in the music of the game.
