Forest Marathon
The game is set outdoor where the protagonist collects acorns. I had thought the game would be along the lines of running in the forest; like how the game Sonic Dash has that blue creature running down a lane filled with obstacles that needs to be avoided. Plus the title is literally called 'Forest Marathon' surely its got something to do with...running..? Turns out, it was nothing like it at all- which is kind of disappointing. The protagonist of the game just had to find 5 acorns in order to move to the next level. This continues until she finds the big acorn then the game ends there. I reckon the downfall of this game would be the fact that there are no obstacles or antagonist in each level. -Lowers the thrill and fun in the game when there is no type of challenge
The art in the game is similar to that of Mario. It appeared grid like, making the game look unfinished. -sort of like how Minecraft looks like but with gliches. This also got me deciding that this type of art is a no-no for my game. The colors used in Forest Marathon were simple; green for grass, brown for dirt, giving the game a plain appeal. this wouldn't be a problem if the target audience are young people (14 under?) However if its older, more effort in the art and color uses. A game with a realistic art is something most older players look for in a game-[and a good story/game-play]
There were some times where the game would seem like it had a couple of glitches, it wasn't pretty. Forest Marathon was easy to play, its controls consist of the [LEFT<] and [RIGHT>] arrows on the keyboard to move back and forth, while [SPACE] to jump/..fly?.
