Game purpose

Task 9
Do you agree with what she says?

''I believe that many of us become the best version of ourselves -- the most likely to help at a moment's notice, the most likely to stick with a problem as long at it takes, to get up after failure and try again. And in real life, when we face failure, when we confront obstacles, we often don't feel that way. We feel overcome, we feel overwhelmed, we feel anxious, maybe depressed, frustrated or cynical. We never have those feelings when we're playing games, they just don't exist in games.''-Jane Mcgonigal

- I agree with what Jane had said about games bringing out the best version of us. This is because when playing a game, there are many roles you can choose to become (i.e a doctor, a teacher, a scientist, a basketball player etc) and we can express ourselves a lot better in games. We are quick in solving problems. . In the gaming world, players are not afraid to win or lose, to make a mistake and try again. Like how Jane had said " in real life, when we face failure, when we confront obstacles...we feel overcome, we feel overwhelmed, maybe depressed, frustrated or cynical". She is right about this. In the gaming world, we are confident in what we are doing, a lot more motivated to try new challenges and when we've made a mistake, it doesn't effect us in a bad way instead it pushes us to correct the mistake

Why does Jane think that Games could change the world?
-I think she's delusional in this area though. I don't believe that games could change the world for the better as she said. This is because it restricts people to a screen, a phone, a computer(anything concerning technology) which keeps them indoors, so manual labor is nonexistent. Therefore no change would be happening in the world.
