Game Feedback

Image
Okay, so my game is not what i have planned it to be when i first started my production on Gamefroot. Gamefroot's program is so different to what i expected, i.e. the animation and terrain building, Gamefroots got a 2D platform(and so on). One of my audience had commented on how my game looks similar to Mario(the game), not the gameplay but the games animation as well, so, i just want to stress that this game originated from my own ideas.( Inanuis' idea..)  Anyways Gamefroot is pretty algoods, i just had to change a few things to my game. Like the games story, protagonist/antagonist, the terrain and stuff to suit the program and the interest of my target audience. I got some people i knew to test play my game, just i could see which level needed fixing or stuff added to it. And so the first two people who test played commented on how the second level was "waaaaay too hard" and that they couldn't get pass that level without dying. (so i fixed it by switc...

Error Annoyance

Image
This keeps popping up every time i Try to save my game. It's really frustrating and annoying because not only do i have to start all over again, i have to change my game plan and adjust things in my production calander. If this keeps going on, i will lose - and waste - alot of my time -  and life -  trying to(at least) finish one level(of my game). I want to complete at least 2 or 3 stages of my game this week, but i can't. [A/N: i feel like this error thingy is popping up because of the internet in the cook islands?? I know my classmates are going through the same thing. Aaaaand I refuse to move onto my next terrain until the first level is completed. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what i should do? ] - going in circles: create game level.               Perfect terrains, script and control.                Test play.                 Save... Character development

Image
Poerava The main character. I chose this name because it's a name for both genders, i was thinking of giving my players the option of choosing their own gender - but still have the same name- ,  sadly the thought was crushed by second thoughts. My characters' a female now, which could be a good thing for my target audiences whom are females. Poerava won't have any special powers or anything, I want her to be just an ordinary brown-skinned person. -a maori without an identity . the game is about finding your identity and heritages therefore the only type of ability she will have is to be able to wield the weapons she receives. Mistress The first character Poerava meets. She is the wise lady whom tells Poerava how to get back home. The mistress in the legend 'lady and the bird' was claimed to be missing when in reality she went into hiding cause she thought her husband didn't love her anymore. In my game she lost her way because she has a bad sense of direc...

Game update

Change of Title.                                         ^   ^    _                                (●_●) /                               /  (    )                           --      /   \                                - °     °- I changed the title of my game to Toku Pitoenua which means M y motherland or My home . The games title was originally called " Trouble in Paradise" but i realised that there was a movie with the same name, hence why i changed it. - In Trouble with Paradise is another title i came up with, but...

Game purpose

Task 9 Do you agree with what she says?    '' I believe that many of us become the best version of ourselves --   the most likely to help at a moment's notice,   the most likely to stick with a problem as long at it takes,   to get up after failure and try again.   And in real life, when we face failure,   when we confront obstacles, we often don't feel that way.   We feel overcome, we feel overwhelmed,   we feel anxious, maybe depressed, frustrated or cynical.   We never have those feelings when we're playing games,   they just don't exist in games.''-Jane Mcgonigal - I agree with what Jane had said about games bringing out the best version of us. This is because when playing a game, there are many roles you can choose to become (i.e a doctor, a teacher, a scientist, a basketball player etc) and we can express ourselves a lot better in games. We are quick in solving problems. . In the gaming world, players are not afraid to w...

World Building

Image
Task 7-  Now its time to design your world!     -I want to base my game on the Cook Islands, I'm planning on using the different tourist attractions in my game for my island(world), e.g Atiu - Island of birds and underground caves, Mauke - underwater caves, Aitutaki - beautiful lagoon. Uses of colors in Avaiki - My game will have two worlds; the real world Avaiki and the parallel one(still trying to find a name) Both my worlds will be set on islands, they would obviously have similar appearances but the differences to the real and parallel world will be made obvious.  The game will be set within the parallel world( Avaiki will be in the intro of my game, its actual starter will be when the protagonist enters the parallel world)  I've envisioned a 'Alice in wonderland' kind of theme/world. I want it to have a dark yet magical atmosphere. So basically i want my game to start off with the natural beautiful scenery of nature, then when the main character...
